The Nexon is on sale with 3 engine options – petrol, CNG and diesel – and four trim levels – Smart, Pure, Creative and Fearless.
The Tata Nexon was given a comprehensive, mid-cycle refresh in September 2023, but since then, the brand has updated its compact SUV with a new powertrain option, more features, and rejigged the variant line-up. The Nexon is available in petrol, CNG and diesel form, and comes in 4 trim levels – Smart, Pure, Creative and Fearless – each of which get a ‘+’ and an ‘S” variant that pack in more features. Including all the powertrain and variants, there are a total of 39 versions of the Nexon on sale, so without further digression, here is what features, safety kit and powertrain options available with each variant.

Total of 7 engine and gearbox combinations to choose from
The Nexon is available with the widest range of engine and gearbox options in the compact SUV segment. The 120hp, 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine comes with a 5-speed manual gearbox on the entry-level Smart variants, while Pure, Creative and Fearless variants get a 6-speed manual. The turbo-petrol engine also comes with a 6-speed AMT option on select Smart, Pure and Creative variants, while a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic option is there on select Creative variants, and the top-spec Fearless.
The diesel engine option – a 115hp, 1.5-litre unit – has a 6-speed manual as standard, with a 6-speed AMT option available on select Pure, Creative and Fearless variants. Finally, the Nexon CNG, which was launched in September last year, comes with the 1.2-litre turbocharged unit that makes 100hp when run on compressed natural gas, and a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard.

8 monotone exterior colour options available, including the Dark variants
The Nexon is available in a total of 15 exterior colour options – 8 monotone and 7 dual-tone – and this number includes the all-black dark variants. The entry-level Nexon Smart trim only gets 5 monotone options – Pristine White, Daytona Grey, Grassland Beige, Royal Blue and Flame Red – while the Pure trim gets an additional Pure Grey option. Nexon Creative trims have Ocean Blue and Dark options on offer, along with dual-tone options for all colours but the Pristine White. The top-spec Nexon Fearless has all 15 colour options to choose from.
