Tripti Bhatt gave up 16 government job offers, including one from ISRO, for her UPSC dream.

In pursuit of her dream to serve the nation, Tripti Bhatt, a determined officer from Uttarakhand, gave up 16 government job offers, including one from ISRO, to become an IPS officer. Today, she serves as SP Intelligence and Security in Dehradun, standing as a symbol of resilience and commitment.

Hailing from Almora, Tripti grew up in a middle-class family with a teaching background. The eldest of four siblings, she studied at Beersheba Senior Secondary School and Kendriya Vidyalaya, before graduating in engineering from Pantnagar University. Early in her career, she worked as an Assistant Manager at NTPC, but her real ambition lay elsewhere.

Rejected ISRO For IPS: A Dream Born In Class 9

Tripti’s turning point came in Class 9 when she met former President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, who handed her a handwritten letter. The moment, she recalls, ignited her lifelong mission to serve India. Despite offers from top institutions like ISRO, she remained focused on the Civil Services.

In 2013, she cracked the UPSC CSE in her first attempt, securing an All India Rank of 165 and choosing IPS. She was allotted her home cadre and began her police career as SP Dehradun. She later served as SP Chamoli and Commander of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) in Tehri Garhwal, where she led critical rescue operations during disasters.

From Rescue Ops To Rally Duty: Uttarakhand’s Fearless SP

An officer with many talents, Tripti has won gold in marathon races and state-level badminton competitions. She is also trained in Taekwondo and Karate, pursuits that reflect her discipline and strength.

On social media, Tripti often shares glimpses of her work. In 2022, during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rally in Almora, she posted a photo with the caption: “Was on uniformed duty at my home district for the first time in all these years of service.. and the feeling was a special one.”

Her journey from a small town in Uttarakhand to one of the state’s top police posts is not just a story of civil service success; it is an inspiring blueprint for perseverance, courage, and national service.
