
With the quarterly examination timetable for the 2025 academic year now released, students have begun preparations for their upcoming exams. Amidst this, District Collectors across the state of Tamil Nadu are declaring school holidays to accommodate various local events.

District Collector K. Porkodi has announced that schools, colleges, and other educational institutions will be granted a holiday in observance of the 68th Commemoration Day of Martyr Emanuel Sekaran, which will be held in Paramakudi, Ramanathapuram district, Tamil Nadu.

A press release issued by the Collector stated: “In order to ensure that the 68th commemoration of Martyr Emanuel Sekaran, scheduled for September 11, 2025, in Paramakudi, Ramanathapuram district, is conducted peacefully, to maintain public order, and in consideration of student welfare, a public holiday will be declared for all schools, colleges, and educational institutions in the Sivagangai, Thiruppuvanam, Manamadurai, and Ilayangudi taluks/unions of Sivagangai district on September 11, 2025. These institutions will instead remain open on September 20, 2025.”

In Tamil Nadu, examinations for classes 1 to 3 will be conducted from September 22 to 25, while for classes 4 and 5 will be held from September 17 to 29. The Department of School Education has confirmed that the quarterly examinations will run until September 25.

Exams for students in Classes 6 to 9 are set to commence on September 15 and conclude on September 26. Class 10 examinations will follow the same schedule. For students in Classes 11 and 12, the exams will begin on September 10 and continue until September 25.
