Candidates awaiting NEET PG 2025 counselling may get some clarity soon, as the Federation of All India Medical Associations (FAIMA) has indicated that the process is expected to begin by mid-October. In a recent social media update, FAIMA said, “As per our communication with MOHFW officials, NEET PG counselling is most likely to begin by mid-October. Further details awaited. Stay tuned!”
The announcement comes after several weeks of uncertainty surrounding the counselling schedule. Candidates have been waiting anxiously for official confirmation amid ongoing legal proceedings related to NEET PG 2025.
The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), which conducts the counselling, is expected to release the official schedule on its website, mcc.nic.in. Once released, candidates will be able to complete the registration, choice filling, and seat allotment processes as per the MCC guidelines.
The delay in counselling is linked to pending petitions filed by NEET PG 2025 candidates and the United Doctors Front (UDF). The Supreme Court has now directed the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) to respond to these petitions within two weeks. These legal proceedings are closely watched by thousands of aspirants, as they directly affect the timeline of postgraduate medical admissions.

NEET PG is the primary entrance examination for admission to postgraduate medical courses such as MD, MS, and PG diploma programmes in government and private medical colleges across India.
