The Bombay High Court (BHC) has announced the recruitment of 13 Stenographer (Grade-3) positions for graduate candidates. The application process commenced on October 27, 2025, and interested candidates can submit their online applications via the official website bombayhighcourt.nic.in until November 10, 2025.
Selected stenographers will receive a monthly salary ranging from Rs 56,100 to Rs 1,77,500, along with Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), and other government allowances.
Who Can Apply?
To be eligible for the Bombay High Court recruitment, candidates must hold a graduation degree in any subject from a recognised university, with preference given to law graduates. Additionally, applicants must possess a valid certificate demonstrating a minimum speed of 80 words per minute in English shorthand. The age requirement stipulates a minimum of 21 years and a maximum of 43 years, with age relaxation provided for reserved categories such as SC/ST/OBC/EWS as per government rules.
How Much Will The Application Fee Cost?
All candidates must pay an application fee of Rs 1,000, which can only be paid online through debit card, credit card, net banking, or UPI. Applications submitted without the fee will be rejected.
How Will Selection Be Done?
The selection process involves three stages, culminating in a merit list out of 100 marks. The first stage is a shorthand test comprising two English passages totalling 500 words for 40 marks, with a 5-minute dictation and 30 minutes for transcription. The second stage is a typing test, requiring candidates to type a 400-word English passage in 10 minutes for 40 marks. The third and final stage is a viva-voce or personal interview worth 20 marks.
Candidates who pass all stages will be included in the final merit list. Examination and interview dates will be announced later via official notification.

Following registration with a mobile number, email ID, and basic details, applicants must log in with the provided ID and password. The application form requires personal, educational, and shorthand certificate details, along with the upload of a passport-size photo, signature, and necessary documents. After paying the 1,000 rupee fee online, candidates should submit the form and print a copy for safekeeping.
