BMW F 450 GS revealed ahead of India launch


BMW has taken the wraps off the highly anticipated F 450 GS at EICMA 2025. With the G 310 GS discontinued, this adventure bike will be the entry point into BMW’s GS lineup and will be made in India by TVS.

The bike has a kerb weight of 178kg.

The production-spec version of the F 450 GS has been revealed at EICMA. It gets quad-LED DRLs inspired by the new R 1300 GS, a single front disc brake, and a golden-coloured USD fork. The 450cc, twin-cylinder engine produces 48hp at 8,750 rpm, a peak torque of 43Nm at 6,750 rpm, and has a kerb weight of 178kg. it also gets the Shift Assistant Pro (quickshifter) for quick upshifts and downshifts without using the clutch. It features a stainless steel exhaust system with two catalytic converters on the right-hand side.

There are four variants, including Basic, Exclusive, Sport, and Trophy. The bike is equipped with the Easy Ride Clutch (ERC) for significantly improved operating and riding comfort, as well as dynamics. It is offered as standard in the GS Trophy trim level and can be retrofitted to all other F 450 GS model variants. The front end gets a KYB upside-down fork, and at the rear, a KYB monoshock, adjustable for spring preload and rebound, and with travel-dependent damping. The braking system is by Brembo (front) and ByBre (rear) in conjunction with BMW Motorrad ABS Pro for safe braking, even when leaning. Dynamic Brake Control (DBC) and Dynamic Brake Light are additional safety features.

The bike features footrests with adjustable gearshift and footbrake levers for optimal grip on and off-road. Adjustable hand levers and heated grips are offered as standard, and it uses a 6.5-inch TFT display packed with connectivity features.

There are additional customisation options as part of the Original BMW Motorrad Accessories range, which include cross-spoke wheels, wind and weather protection with various windshield variants, luggage systems, handlebar risers, various seat variants (Rally seat, low seat), and an aluminium engine guard.

BMW F 450 GS Trophy (includes off-road foot pegs, white hand guards, Riding Modes Pro, Shift Assistant Pro, tinted Rallye windshield, sport suspension, aluminum engine guard, and Easy Ride Clutch).
