Ace Indian shuttler Srikanth Kidambi was made to work before he could seal his move into the final of the Syed Modi International in Lucknow on Saturday by Mithun Manjunath in the semi-final of the Super 300 event.

The Indian women’s doubles pairing of Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand moved into the summit clash with their win over Carmen Ting and Ong Xin Yee.

Kidambi held his nerve to record a 21-15, 19-21, 21-13 triumph over his  27-year-old compatriot, while Jolly and Gayatri posted a 21-11, 21-15 victory over the Malaysian pairing to set up a final against Mai Tanabe and Kaho Osawa of Japan.

However, it was the end of the road for promising youngster Tanvi Sharma who went down to Hina Akechi of Japan in straight sets 17-21, 16-21, while Unnati Hooda was also shown the exit door by Nesliha Arin of Turkey 15-21, 10-21.

A day earlier,the teenage sensation Sharma registered a 21-13, 21-19 triumph over Hong Kong’s Lo Sin Yan Happy to move into the final-four of the women’s singles at the Super 300 event, after having bettered former World Champion Nozomi Okuhara in the pre-quarters as she rallied from a game down to register a 13-21, 21-16, 21-19 in 59 minutes to move into the quarters of the event in UP.

Hooda earner her place in the final-four with her 21-15, 13-21, 21-16 victory over compatriot Rakshitha Ramaraju, while Isharani Baruah was shown the exit door by Arin 19-21, 21-13, 15-21, before the Turkey star got the better of Hooda in the semis.

The mixed doubles duo of Jolly and Harihara Amsakarunan went down to the Indonesian duo of Bernardine Anindiya Wardana and D Ferdinansyah 17-21, 19-21.
