A significant update for young aspirants aiming to pursue an LLB and practice law. The Bar Council of India (BCI) will conduct the All India Bar Exam on November 30. The BCI has provided a list of “Dos and Don’ts” along with the admit card to ensure a fair and smooth examination process.
The All India Bar Exam is not an open-book exam. However, candidates can bring bare law books without notes or commentaries. Bare law books are the original law books without any additional explanations. No other items are permitted.
Exam Timing And Required Documents:
— Candidates should reach the examination centre by 11:30 AM for timely entry. No candidate will be allowed entry after 1:15 PM.
— Candidates must bring their admit card and a valid photo ID, such as an Aadhaar card or driving licence. Both documents are compulsory.
— Only blue and black ballpoint pens are allowed to mark answers on the answer sheet. Using a pencil will result in the rejection of the answer sheet.
— Fill in all necessary details, including roll number and question paper set code, carefully on the OMR sheet.
Exam Pattern:
The AIBE Exam will be held offline in a pen and paper format. It will feature 100 multiple-choice questions (MCQs), each worth one mark. Candidates will have three hours to complete the exam.
According to the marking scheme, candidates will earn one mark for each correct answer, with no negative marking.
To pass the exam, general category candidates need to score at least 45%, while Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Persons with Disabilities (PWD) candidates must secure a minimum of 40% marks.
All India Bar Examination is a mandatory qualifying exam for law graduates wishing to practice law in India. To be eligible, candidates must have completed a three-year or five-year LLB course from a university or college recognised by BCI.
