Indian pairing of Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand clinched the women’s doubles crown at the Syed Modi International in Lucknow on Sunday with their win over Mai Tanabe and Kaho Osawa of Japan.
Jolly and Gopichand were taken the distance by the Japanese duo, but came up trumps with their 17-21, 21-13, 21-15 victory over Tanabe and Osawa.
Jolly and Gayatri posted a 21-11, 21-15 victory over the Malaysian pairing of Carmen Ting and Ong Xin Yee in the semifinals of the event in the lead up to the summit clash, which the Indians ultimately managed to win.
