Jake Paul’s hype train hit a brick wall in Miami.
The YouTuber-turned-boxer suffered the first knockout loss of his career, getting brutally stopped by former unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua at the Kaseya Center on Friday night.
Joshua dropped Paul four times, ending the fight emphatically and handing the 27-year-old just the second defeat of his pro career. Paul came in riding momentum after a June decision win over Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., having won six straight since losing to Tommy Fury in 2023.
The bout came together after Paul’s planned November exhibition against Gervonta “Tank” Davis collapsed following legal issues involving Davis. Instead, Paul stepped into deep waters against a proven heavyweight — and paid the price.
For Joshua, it marked a timely rebound. The former champion, who lost his belts to Oleksandr Usyk in 2021 and was stopped by Daniel Dubois last year, reminded everyone of his power with a vintage, no-nonsense finish.
Paul chased credibility. Joshua delivered reality.
