The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced changes to the CUET PG 2026 exam. Candidates registered for this postgraduate entrance exam can now select up to four preferred cities for their examination within their state of permanent or current residence. Till the 2024 exams, candidates were allowed to choose two cities.

Candidates who have already submitted their application forms will have the opportunity to update their exam city choices from January 18, 2026, to January 20, 2026.

According to the official NTA notification, “To provide greater flexibility to students, candidates will be permitted to select up to four (04) Examination City choices within the state of their permanent or present residence, subject to the availability of Examination Cities. Candidates who have already submitted their application forms will be given an opportunity to exercise or update their additional Examination City choices during the Correction Window from 18 January 2026 to 20 January 2026.”

The registration process is underway. Interested students can apply for CUET PG 2026 till January 14, 2026 (until 11:50 PM), at exams.nta.ac.in/cuet-pg. The exam was held in March. CUET (PG) has become the only route for PG admission to central universities. The exam is scheduled to be held in March 2026.

Candidates can select up to four question paper codes from a provided list. The CUET PG question paper will consist of 75 questions. While the number of questions remains the same as the previous year, the duration of the exam has been decreased from 1 hour 45 minutes to 90 minutes. The comprehension section in the General Paper will be available in either English or Hindi, depending on the candidate’s preference, which must be specified during registration.
