PSG star Ousmane Dembele, who clinched the Ballon d’Or 2025 and the FIFA Best Player Award on the back of his performances that led the French Capital city club to their maiden UEFA Champions League title, added to his trophy cabinet with the Globe Sport Award for the Best Player Of The Year.
Dembele, who had a remarkable season with the Paris-based club, edged out competitors like Lamine Yamal to win the coveted prize, having scored 33 goals and assisted 16 times across all competitions for PSG during a trophy-laden campaign.
Dembele also played a crucial role in helping the Parisian giants secure the Ligue 1 title and guided the Parc des Princes side to the final of the revamped FIFA Club World Cup.
He revealed that winning the award for the best men’s player of the year wasn’t his primary focus; he just wanted to help his team succeed at the highest level.
Barcelona wunderkind Yamal was presented with the Maradona Award for the best forward at the Gala event at the Atlantis Royal Hotel in Dubai, United Arab Emirates on Monday.
Portugal star Cristiano Ronaldo was presented with the Middle Eastern Player of the Year Award at the event, and the Al Nassr superstar went on to reiterate his focus on getting to the 1000 goal mark.
