RRB Group D Recruitment 2026: The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has released the official notification for Group D Recruitment 2026, aiming to fill 21,997 positions across various railway zones in the country. The online application process commenced today, January 31, 2026, and will continue until March 2, 2026. Interested candidates can apply via the official website – rrbapply.gov.in. The Railways anticipate receiving over 10 million applications for this recruitment.
The deadline for submitting the application fee is March 4, 2026. The correction window for amending the application form will be open from March 5 to March 14, 2026. The Railways have clarified that no changes to the selected railway zone will be allowed once chosen. Candidates are advised to ensure their Aadhaar card details are updated and match their 10th-grade certificate to avoid application issues.
The Railway Recruitment Board has specified that candidates can apply for only one Railway Zone (RRB). Multiple applications for different zones will result in outright rejection. However, a single application can be used to apply for various positions within the same zone, and candidates must specify their preferences. Selected candidates will receive a monthly salary of Rs 18,000 under Level 1.

RRB Group D Recruitment 2026: Age Limit
Candidates must be between 18 and 33 years old as of January 1, 2026. Age relaxation is 3 years for OBC and 5 years for SC/ST categories. The date of birth limits for different categories are specified in the notification and should be checked before applying.
RRB Group D Recruitment 2026: Application Fees
The application fee is Rs 500 for General, OBC, and EWS categories, with Rs 400 refunded upon appearing in the CBT exam. SC, ST, EBC, and female candidates will be charged Rs 250, which will be fully refunded upon appearing in the exam.
RRB Group D Recruitment 2026: Selection Process
Selection for Railway Group D recruitment will involve a single-stage Computer Based Test (CBT) followed by a Physical Efficiency Test (PET). Candidates who qualify in the CBT will be invited for the PET. This will be followed by document verification and a medical examination. The CBT exam will last 90 minutes and consist of 100 questions: 25 each from General Science and Math, 30 from Reasoning, and 20 from General Awareness.
There will be negative marking in the CBT exam, with one-third of a mark deducted for each wrong answer. The minimum passing percentage is 40% for unreserved and EWS categories, and 30% for OBC, SC, and ST categories. A normalisation system will also be implemented for the exam.
In the physical test, male candidates must run 100 meters in 2 minutes and complete a 1000-meter race in 4 minutes 15 seconds while carrying a weight of 35 kg. Female candidates must run 100 meters in 2 minutes and complete a 1000-meter race in 5 minutes 40 seconds while carrying a weight of 20 kg.
