The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued an important advisory, announcing fresh application rules for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG) 2026 registration process.

In the advisory, the NTA has announced that Aadhaar-based eKYC is now required for identity verification. Aadhaar must contain the correct candidate’s name, date of birth, gender, photograph, and address.

At the time of online form submission, candidates are required to capture and submit a live photograph, as outlined in the advisory.

The NTA has also urged candidates to provide a valid supporting certificate, in case the live photograph doesn’t match the Aadhaar photograph.

“The choice of examination city and medium of examination will be based on the state of present and permanent address provided by the applicant in the application form”, the advisory read.

The deadline to apply for NEET-UG exam is March 8, 2026.
