Jamia Millia Islamia has introduced 30 new programmes, such as B.A. (Hons) Japanese Studies, B.A. (Hons) German Studies, and M.Sc. (Biotechnology).

Jamia Millia Islamia, situated in South Delhi, has steadily grown in reputation. Ranked 24th, it offers strong engineering programmes with modern labs and industry exposure.
Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) has released its 2026–27 academic session prospectus, covering admission guidelines for undergraduate, postgraduate, advanced diploma, PG Diploma, Certificate, and Diploma programs. The last date to apply is March 25.
The online application process for 2026–27 includes four categories: General University Programmes, CUET Programmes, B.Tech and B.Arch Programmes, and Multiple Entry NEP 2020 Programmes.
New Courses Introduced
Jamia has introduced 30 new programmes, such as B.A. (Hons) Japanese Studies, B.A. (Hons) German Studies, and M.Sc. (Biotechnology). The university has also expanded its network of entrance test centres to 11, including new locations in Jaipur, Dehradun, and Kishanganj, it stated in an official press release.
There is no increase in course fees for 2026–27. Admissions for the Four-Year Undergraduate Programs (FYUP) under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 will begin, offering more flexibility to students.
The 150-page document, launched by Vice Chancellor Prof. Mazhar Asif and other university officials, includes details on eligibility criteria, application links, entrance exams, admit cards, syllabi, test centres, course fees, and tentative result timelines.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Asif commended the Prospectus Committee for the timely release and emphasised the importance of the new programs and the expanded test centres. Registrar Prof. Rizvi praised the committee’s efforts and JMI’s commitment to academic rigour and innovation. Prof. Haque assured that the CoE office is dedicated to a fair and transparent admission process.
Fess Reduced For Foreign Students
Jamia has reduced fees for foreign students under the General and Supernumerary seats categories, introducing a region-specific fee structure for students from SAARC countries, West Asia, Africa, and Latin America.
Forms for programmes based on JEE Mains, NATA, NEET for BPT, NCET, and CUET will be available from today, February 20, 2026 until 10 days after the respective test results are announced, the institute added. Forms for Multiple Entry mode FYUP programmes with vacant seats will be available till April 10, 2026.
