Tata recently updated the Punch EV and equipped it with larger battery packs, getting an increased claimed range, minor exterior design changes, and new features. The Punch EV, along with the Citroen eC3, are two of the only sub-compact SUVs offering all-electric powertrains. Punch EV is more affordable of the two
With a starting price under Rs 10 lakh, the Punch EV is approximately Rs 3.2 lakh more affordable than the base-spec Citroen eC3. In fact, the entire Punch EV price range, between Rs 9.69 lakh and Rs 12.59 lakh, is more accessible than that of the eC3’s price band.

eC3 gets the longer wheelbase, but the Punch EV is higher off the ground
While both models have a slight difference in terms of width and height, the eC3 is 100mm longer, and gets a 95mm longer wheelbase. On the other hand, the Punch EV has 25mm higher ground clearance, gets a bigger boot by 50-litres, and features wheels a size larger.

Punch EV gets a much higher claimed range
The Punch EV can be had with either a 30kWh or 40kWh battery pack; both of which are larger than the eC3’s sole 29.2kWh battery. Consequently, the Punch produces upto 72hp more power, and 11Nm more torque than the eC3. Moreover, it can go up to 222km longer on a single charge.

Punch EV’s battery supports faster AC and DC charging speeds
Regarding charging capabilities, both cars come with standard 3.3kW chargers, but the Punch also offers an optional 7.2kW charger and supports faster DC charging speeds. Although the eC3 charges slightly quicker at 3.3kW due to its smaller battery, the Punch EV’s support for up to 7.2kW AC and 65kW DC charging enables it to charge much faster overall.
