The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has declared the Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2025 results. Anuj Agnihotri secured All India Rank (AIR) 1, followed by Rajeshwari Suve at rank two and Akansh Dhull at rank three.

Dhull, who comes from Haryana, has been preparing for the civil services examination since 2021.

Dhull comes from a political family. His father, Krishan Dhull, is a BJP leader in Haryana. His mother works as a school principal.

On his son Akansh Dhull securing third rank in UPSC civil services final result 2025, Haryana BJP leader Krishan Dhull says, “I can’t even describe his achievement in words. The hard work, the concentration has put in over the past eight years, is commendable. He has proven that if a child consistently sets a goal and works hard, success is certain…His mother, my wife, who is sitting with me, played the biggest role in bringing him to this point. Whenever he needed her, she stood by him…”

Education And Early Life

Akansh Dhull was born in Rohtak, Haryana, though his family later moved to Panchkula. He completed his schooling in Chandigarh, passing Class 10 from Bhavan Vidyalaya, Sector 27, and Class 12 from St Kabir Public School, Sector 26.

He later moved to New Delhi for higher education and graduated with BCom (Hons) from Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC), Delhi University.

UPSC Journey And Previous Attempts

After completing his graduation, Dhull stayed in Delhi to prepare for the civil services examination. He had cleared the exam earlier as well. In 2023, he secured rank 342, and in the following attempt he improved his performance.

Despite getting an opportunity to appear for campus placements at SRCC, Dhull decided not to sit for them and focused on the civil services examination, which he described as his “childhood dream.”

In a mock interview with coaching institutes Drishti IAS and Unacademy, Dhull spoke about why he chose civil services. “My parents nudged me to do this, and I was good in academics, so I thought it could be a good opportunity for me to try,” he said. He added that growing up in Haryana helped him understand how civil services can influence people’s lives.
