Powering the mid-engined Ferrari 849 Testarossa is a plug-in hybrid setup comprising a 4-litre twin-turbocharged V8 petrol motor and three electric motors – two mounted on the front axle and another positioned between the engine and gearbox. The V8 alone develops 830hp, while total system output stands at 1,050hp. An 8-speed dual-clutch automatic sends power to all four wheels. Ferrari claims the Testarossa is capable of a 0-100kph sprint in under 2.3 seconds and can hit a top speed of 330kph. Its 7.45kWh battery also allows the car to travel between 16km and 25km on electric power alone.

Visually, the new model adopts a bold and distinctive design. At the front, L-shaped LED headlamps are linked by a gloss-black strip running across the bonnet, a styling cue inspired by older Ferrari models. The bumper features a layered design with a large central air intake and a pronounced front lip. The side profile highlights large alloy wheels, a contrasting black roof and A-pillars, and sizeable air intakes integrated into the rear buttresses. At the back, the design is characterised by twin tail sections, slim LED tail-lights, a high-mounted dual-exhaust setup and a large diffuser.

Inside, the cabin layout focuses heavily on the driver. A tall centre console and a bridge-style divider separate the two sports seats, while the dashboard itself does not feature a traditional infotainment touchscreen. Instead, the driver gets a large 16-inch digital display, and the passenger has access to a slim 9-inch screen.

Notably, Ferrari has responded to criticism of its all-haptic steering wheel by bringing in physical buttons for most key functions. The feature list includes a seven-speaker audio system along with wireless support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
