JEE Main 2026 is being conducted in two phases, the first in January and the second in April. Students seeking admission to BTech, BArch and BPlanning courses must submit their applications before the deadline. As per the official schedule, the Session 2 examination will be held from April 2 to April 9, 2026. Admit cards are likely to be released three to four days before the examination begins.

Before the exam, let’s take a look at the tips and strategies that the toppers of 2025 followed to crack the exam with full marks:

Om Prakash Behera of Odisha achieved a perfect score of 300/300 in the January JEE Main 2025 session, with an NTA of 100 percentile. He attributes his success to dedicated self-study, a methodical approach, and strategic planning. A significant portion of his routine was self-study. He stayed true to the fundamentals in his study materials and mainly focused on the NCERT syllabus.

Saksham Jindal also prepared extensively, focusing on practice tests and revising previous years’ papers thoroughly. “We usually prepare for JEE Advanced, but two months before the exam, we shifted our focus to JEE Main, emphasising the NCERT syllabus. We took many practice tests from previous question papers to maintain the flow,” Saksham told News18.

Rajit Gupta, a student from Kota had achieved 100 percentile in both the January and April sessions of JEE Main 2025. He also secured rank 1 in JEE Advanced 2025 thereby consistently demonstrating his academic excellence.

Interestingly, Rajit was so confident in his preparation that he didn’t check the answer key after the JEE exams. He credits his success to conceptual clarity, discipline, and a calm approach — key qualities that helped him excel in both JEE Main and JEE Advanced.

“Happiness is my key to success. I try to stay happy in all situations. I never followed a strict study schedule because that only creates unnecessary pressure. I studied when I felt like it, but whenever I did study, I focused completely. I ensured to clear my doubts before moving on to the next topic. My main focus was on not repeating mistakes, as correcting them strengthens your foundation in any subject,” he told News18.
