Mahindra BE 6 Batman Edition: What is the uproar about?
Mahindra launched the BE 6 Batman Edition and allocated just 999 units for the whole country. Limited in its availability, the homegrown automaker claimed that all of these units were spoken for within a few minutes of the brand opening bookings for the Batman Edition. With the unexpected arrival of the second batch of the BE 6 Batman Edition, barely seven months down the line, this USP faced dilution.
When Mahindra released the second batch of the BE 6 Batman Edition on March 6, 2026, unlike the first time where there was an actual limitation on the volume (999 units), this time around, Mahindra limited bookings to the first 24 hours after the EV went on sale. Furthermore, the automaker jacked up the price of the Batman Edition by Rs 70,000 over the first batch. However, this did not fade prospective buyers as the brand reported that all 999 cars were spoken for within seven minutes of this series being announced.
Noticing the uproar among its customers, Mahindra has responded by offering to fully buyback the first batch of the Batman Edition. Those who are interested in taking up Mahindra on this offer can communicate the same to their dealership, who shall then explain the next course of action. Among its terms & conditions, Mahindra has stated that this offer will only be valid for a period of 30 days, starting March 18, 2026.
Mahindra BE 6 Batman Edition
This special edition is cosmetic in nature
While it gets various Batman-related decals, badges and other exclusive styling details, the Batman Edition is based on the Pack Three variant of the BE 6. This means it comes with a 79kWh battery pack with an ARAI-claimed range of 682km, and powering a rear axle-mounted electric motor capable of delivering 286hp and 380Nm of torque. Similarly, charging options come in the form of a 7.2kW or an 11kW AC charger, both of which cost over and above the car’s ex-showroom price of Rs 28.49 lakh.
