The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) has announced 402 Assistant Boring Technician positions in the Minor Irrigation Department, involving work with tube wells and boring machines. Those who meet the eligibility criteria can apply by visiting the official website at uppsc.up.nic.in.
The online application process will start on April 15, and continue till May 5. The fee submission and correction deadline is May 12, 2026. The application fee is Rs 25 for all categories, to be paid online.
Selected candidates will receive a salary under Pay Level-2 of the 7th Pay Commission, ranging from Rs 19,900 to Rs 63,200, along with DA, HRA, medical, and other allowances, making the total package attractive.

A total of 402 positions are available, distributed as follows:
– 163 positions for the unreserved (general) category
– 40 positions for the Economically Weaker Section (EWS)
– 107 positions for Other Backward Class (OBC) candidates
– 82 positions for Scheduled Castes (SC)
– 10 positions for Scheduled Tribes (ST)
UPSSSC Recruitment 2026: Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed high school (10th grade) or its equivalent. Additionally, they must possess one of the following certificates:
– A tube well mechanic course certificate from a government ITI or the Government Technical Center in Gorakhpur
– A minimum two-year course in Machinist, Fitter, Wireman, or Turner trades from an ITI
– A three-year National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) in these trades from the NCVT of the Government of India
Age Limit: The age limit is 18 to 40 years as of July 1, 2026, with age relaxation for SC, ST, OBC, and other reserved categories as per Uttar Pradesh government regulations.

The selection process is transparent and score-based. Candidates will be shortlisted based on their scores in the PET-2025 (Preliminary Eligibility Test). Those who score zero or negative in the PET will not be considered. High-scoring candidates will then appear for the main examination, the date of which will be announced later. The final merit list will be based on performance in the main examination.
