3. Enter your enrollment or registration number and password on the login page.
4. Enter the captcha and press Submit or Login.
5. Your result will be displayed on the screen with all the details.
6. Download the result and save it in PDF format.
7. Print a copy for future reference, especially for the admission process.

IIT JAM 2026 Result: Tie-Breaking Rules
In case of a tie in total marks, the following procedure will determine the rank:
– Candidate with the lowest negative marks gets the better rank.
– Higher marks in NAT (Numerical Answer Type) questions.
– Higher marks in MSQ (Multiple Select Questions).
– Marks obtained in two mark questions.
– Marks obtained in two mark NAT.
– If the tie persists, the older candidate (by DOB) will be ranked higher.
IIT JAM 2026 Result: Merit List and Next Steps
An All India Merit List is prepared for each test paper, with the number of candidates on this list depending on the seats available in GEN, OBC-NCL, EWS, SC, ST, and PwD categories.

IIT JAM Counselling Process
— During IIT JAM 2026 counselling, applicants will be presented with three options. The first option is “Accept and freeze,” which involves securing their seats by paying the seat booking fees after accepting the allocated option.
— The second option is “Accept and upgrade,” where candidates accept the allotted option but remain open to better opportunities in subsequent rounds, thus receiving higher preference in the later IIT JAM 2026 admission lists.
— The final option is “Reject and quit,” allowing applicants to decline the allotted option and withdraw their name from the list.
