Following a thorough review of the situation in various parts of the Middle East, the CBSE has cancelled the Class 10 main examinations on March 5th. The affected countries include Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE. During this period, 6 major exams including Mathematics, English, and Science, along with 16 language papers and 22 skill exams were completed.

Assessment Scheme

The board has now announced the assessment scheme for the results. The following scenarios will guide the preparation of scorecards:

1. Students who appeared in all examinations will have their results based on their performance in those exams.

2. Students who appeared in 4 examinations will have their results based on the average of the best three performing subjects for the subjects whose exams were not conducted.

3. Students who appeared in 3 examinations will have their results based on the average of the best two performing subjects for the subjects whose exams were not conducted.

4. Students who appeared in 2 examinations (a very small group) will have their results based on the average of those two subjects for the remaining subjects.

Separate Scheme For Private Students

Private students registered under the compartment category from 2025 or earlier:

(i) If these students appeared in 1 or 2 registered exams, their results will be based on their performance.

(ii) If any exams are pending, they will have the chance to take the second Board exams.

The Board further added that the results for Middle East students will be declared alongside other students. Students will have the opportunity to improve their performance in the second Board exams as per policy. Any other necessary actions at the time of result preparation will be decided by the Board. Internal assessment results, which have been completed and uploaded by schools throughout the year, will be considered final.

Results prepared using this assessment scheme will be final, with no special exams except those conducted by CBSE as per policy. The decision of the Board’s Competent Authority will be final. The assessment scheme for Class 12 will be communicated separately once finalised. The Board has assured that the mode of declaration of results for these students will be communicated in due course.

The class 12 assessment scheme will be announced separately, the Board added.
