Bihar Board Inter Result 2026: Scrutiny And Compartment Exam Schedule

If a student is unable to pass even after receiving grace marks, there are two main options:

1. Scrutiny: You can apply to have your answer sheet rechecked. If any totaling error is found, your marks may increase.

2. Compartmental Exam: Students who fail in one or two subjects can save their academic year by appearing in the special exam held in April–May.

For students dissatisfied with their marks or those who have failed in one or two subjects, the board has announced immediate relief. Online applications for scrutiny (copy rechecking) and compartmental-cum-special exams can be submitted from March 25 to April 2, 2026. This provides a lifeline to students who have lagged behind by a small margin, so they do not lose their entire year.

Who Can Apply For Compartment Exam?

For Scrutiny: Any student who is not satisfied with their marks and believes they should have scored higher can apply for scrutiny (re-evaluation) in one or more subjects.

For Compartmental Exam: Students who have failed in a maximum of two subjects can appear for the compartmental exam to avoid losing an academic year.

For Special Examination: Students who had filled the examination form but could not appear in the main examination due to certain reasons (such as an error in the admit card or other technical issues) can appear for all subjects under the Special Examination category.
