Lionel Messi, will have a stand named in his honour at Inter Miami’s new 26,700-seat home, Nu Stadium.
The ‘Leo Messi Stand’ will be unveiled when the Major League Soccer club hosts its first match at the venue on April 4, marking a rare moment in global sport: an active player regularly competing in a stadium section that bears his own name.
Messi’s Impact At Inter Miami
The decision reflects Lionel Messi‘s extraordinary influence since arriving in South Florida in 2023. In just a few seasons, the Argentine forward has transformed Inter Miami into a trophy-winning side, leading the club to four major honours: the Leagues Cup, the Supporters’ Shield, the Eastern Conference title and the MLS Cup. His impact has been both collective and individual, with the 38-year-old setting new benchmarks across the league.
Messi has already established himself as Inter Miami’s all-time leader in both goals and assists, registering 82 goals and 53 assists in just 94 appearances. His consistency and match-winning ability have earned him multiple accolades, including back-to-back league MVP awards and the MLS Golden Boot.

Nu Stadium itself represents a new era for the franchise, replacing their temporary base in Fort Lauderdale with a purpose-built, state-of-the-art facility designed to enhance the fan experience.
The Leo Messi Stand, spanning multiple sections of the arena, is expected to become a focal point for supporters, offering prime views and contributing to a vibrant matchday atmosphere.
