The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has declared the Class 10 results 2026 on April 15. The overall pass percentage stands at 93.70 per cent, marking a marginal improvement over last year when 93.66 per cent of the students passed the 10th exam.
As per CBSE’s official schedule, schools must complete the List of Candidates (LOC) submission for the second board examination starting April 16, 2026. The window will remain open till April 20. The fee submission process too needs to be completed during this time period.
Schools To Take Full Control Of LOC Process
In a significant shift in examination administration, CBSE has placed full responsibility for the LOC process on school authorities. Principals and designated staff will be required to:
— Verify student eligibility for the second board examination
— Confirm subject-wise registration for improvement or compartment cases
— Ensure accuracy of student data before submission
— Upload and finalise entries through the CBSE portal within the deadline
CBSE has instructed schools to exercise strict caution, as errors in LOC submission may lead to disqualification or subject mismatch during the examination process.
Who Can Apply
The April 16 LOC window applies specifically to:
• Students opting for improvement in up to three subjects after the main examination
• Students placed in the compartment category in Class 10 results 2026
• Candidates eligible under the second board examination framework
Each category may have different subject combinations depending on eligibility, and schools are expected to guide students accordingly before final submission.
The board has clearly stated that this timeline is non-negotiable, and the system will automatically close on the final day. Any delay or incomplete submission will directly affect a student’s eligibility to appear in the second board examination scheduled for May 2026.
Furthermore, CBSE has notified that if a candidate’s name is submitted in the LOC and the fee is paid, but the candidate does not appear in the Second Examination, their performance in the Main Examination 2026 will be treated as final.
