NTA JEE Mains 2026 Results: 26 students managed to score 100 percentile in Session 2 of the examination, which includes only one woman from Telangana.

The number of women participating in JEE Main has gone up, but they have lagged behind in securing 100 percentile.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) on April 20 announced the results of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2026, with 26 students achieving over 100 percentile.
The session two examination was held between April 2 and April 8. The NTA has also declared the JEE Main 2026 session 2 results, which can be checked on the official websites jeemain.nta.nic.in and nta.ac.in. Candidates ranked within the top 2.5 lakh will be eligible to appear for JEE Advanced 2026.

While candidate numbers with the perfect score have risen steadily over the last seven years, female participation has also grown. However, women have rarely achieved scores of 100 percentile, with only 10 women getting the top spot from 2020 to 2026, the candidate performance data analysed by The Indian Express has shown.
This year, Mallavarapu Aasna from Telangana was the only person to achieve a perfect 100 percentile in Session 2. In Session 1 of 2026, Ashi Grewal from Haryana came closest as the highest-scoring female candidate, with a 99.9969766 percentile.

While the proportion of female candidates has remained steady at around 30 to 31 per cent, their absolute numbers have risen significantly – from about 2.5 lakh out of 11.47 lakh test-takers in 2019 to roughly 3 to 4 lakh in the most recent session.
