BMW has unveiled the long-wheelbase iX3 SUV for the Chinese market. Notably, the SUV is India-bound and will launch here in 2027. The long wheelbase iX3 gets a wheelbase of 3,006mm, which is 108mm longer than the standard iX3’s 2,898mm wheelbase. The iX3 LWB’s exterior retains the same design elements as the standard iX3 but gets a slightly different look for the rear doors. Due to China’s ban on powered flush-ditting door handles, the iX3 LWB gets manual pull-type door handles. Powering the iX3 LWB in ’50L’ guise is the same 108.7 kWh battery pack as the standard version. It is paired with a dual-motor setup that produces 469hp and 645Nm of torque. BMW says it gets a CLTC-claimed range of over 900km. The interior of the iX3 LWB adopts the same look as the regular iX3. It features BMW’s pillar-to-pillar Panoramic Vision heads-up display, a 17.9-inch rhomboidal infotainment system with a China-specific operating system, powered front seats, a panoramic glass roof and a Harman Kardon sound system. The cabin can be optioned with either an all-white or a brown and cream colour theme.
