With the Jharkhand Board Class 10 results for 2026 now declared, the attention has quickly shifted to the toppers — the students who have scored above 95 percent and made it to the very top.
2026 toppers: who’s at the top this year
This year, Priyanshu and Shivangi Kumari have jointly secured the top spot, both scoring 99.60%. That’s about as close to perfect as it gets.
What’s interesting is that this isn’t a one-off kind of result. Scores at the top have been getting tighter every year, and it’s now common to see multiple students sharing ranks or finishing within a mark or two of each other.
Early reports also suggest that districts like Ranchi and nearby areas have done particularly well this year, continuing a trend seen in recent results.
2025: One school, multiple toppers
In 2025, Gitanjali from Indira Gandhi Balika High School, Hazaribagh topped the state with 98.60%.
But what really stood out that year was how many toppers came from the same school. Students like Ritu Kumari, Amrita Gupta, and Puja Kumari were right behind her, all scoring above 98 percent.
Even Rank 3 students were comfortably above 97 percent, showing how competitive things had become.
2024: Pushing closer to 100%
In 2024, the scores went even higher. Jyotsna Jyoti topped with 99.2%, followed closely by Sana Sanjuri with 98.6%. Others like Karishma Kumari and Sristi Somya were just a fraction behind.
At that level, the difference between ranks often comes down to just one or two marks.
The bigger pattern over the years
If you look at the last five years together, a few things stand out.
First, scoring above 95 percent is almost expected if you want to be in the top ranks. In fact, most toppers are now well above 97 or even 98 percent.
Second, the gap between Rank 1 and Rank 3 is usually very small. It’s not about one student running ahead — it’s more like a group finishing almost together.
And third, certain districts and schools show up again and again. Places like Hazaribagh and Ranchi have consistently produced high scorers.
Girls leading the way
Another trend that’s hard to miss is how often girls appear at the top.
Over the last few years, many of the top ranks have been secured by female students. This lines up with the overall results too, where girls often have a higher pass percentage than boys.
What this means going forward
The 2026 results have followed the same pattern — very high scores, shared ranks, and a tight race at the top.
For students, it also shows how competitive things have become. Scoring 95 percent is impressive, but at the top level, many students are now pushing much closer to 100.
