UPSC CSE 2026 Prelims Admit Card: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is expected to release the admit card for the Civil Services Preliminary Examination (CSE) 2026 soon. As per media reports, it could be released today, May 15; however, there has been no official confirmation so far.
UPSC had earlier stated that the e-Admit Card will be issued on the last working day of the week preceding the date of the examination. The exam is scheduled to be held on May 24. Candidates who have registered for the UPSC CSE Prelims can download their hall tickets from the official websites — upsc.gov.in and upsconline.gov.in.
How To Download UPSC CSE Prelims Admit Card 2026?
Step 1: Visit upsc.gov.in or upsconline.gov.in
Step 2: Click on the link ‘e-Admit Card: UPSC CSE (P) 2026’
Step 3: Enter your Registration ID/Roll Number and Date of Birth
Step 4: Submit the details and your UPSC CSE 2026 Admit Card will appear on the screen
Step 5: Download and save your admit card for future reference
Candidates are advised to carefully check all details on the admit card and carry a printed copy to the exam centre along with valid ID proof.
UPSC CSE Prelims Exam Pattern
The exam comprises 180 objective-type questions in total, with 80 questions from the CSAT (Civil Services Aptitude Test) and 100 from General Studies. It carries a total of 400 marks. Candidates will be awarded two marks for each correct answer. However, one-third of the marks will be deducted for every incorrect answer. There is no negative marking for questions left unanswered. Those who qualify in this round will appear for the Main examination, which includes a written test. Candidates who clear the Main examination will then have to appear for the interview or personality test.
Candidates taking the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) prelims exam will have a total duration of four hours to complete it. There will be a break between the two papers. The General Studies paper will be conducted from 9:30 am to 11:30 am, followed by the CSAT paper from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm.
Candidates who score above the cut-off in the prelims will qualify for the UPSC CSE Main Examination 2026.
