Just one more win… or one slip from Manchester City.

That is all that now separates Mikel Arteta and Arsenal from ending a painful 22-year wait for the Premier League title.

The Gunners edged past Burnley 1-0 at the Emirates on Monday night, opening up a five-point lead at the top and pushing themselves to the brink of history.

The decisive moment came in the 37th minute when Kai Havertz powered home a header from Bukayo Saka’s corner — Arsenal’s 18th set-piece goal in the league this season.

It was not vintage Arsenal. It was tense, scrappy and at times nervy. But it got the job done — and that’s all that counts in the tail end of the season.

“One more to go,” Arteta said after the match.

“We have done our job, what is in our hands. We have to wait and see what is going to happen tomorrow, and then it’s time to prepare for the Palace game.”

The evening could have unravelled for Arsenal in the second half.

Havertz, already the match-winner, was fortunate to remain on the pitch after dragging his studs down the calf of Lesley Ugochukwu in a late challenge.

Despite a VAR review, the yellow card was not upgraded to a red, much to Burnley’s frustration.

That moment briefly lifted belief for the already-relegated visitors, who arrived at the Emirates with just two points from their previous 10 matches but still made Arsenal work for every inch.

Earlier, Leandro Trossard hit the post, while Saka also saw penalty appeals waved away.

Title Race Now On A Knife Edge

Arsenal can officially be crowned champions on Tuesday if City fail to beat Bournemouth.

Even if Guardiola’s side survives that test and beats Aston Villa on the final day, Arsenal will still seal the title with a victory away at Crystal Palace on Sunday.

One more push, and two decades of waiting will finally end.
