The State Bank of India (SBI) is set to begin the online registration process for Apprentice posts today, May 19, 2026. Candidates can submit their application forms on the careers portal at sbi.co.in until June 8. Through this recruitment drive, SBI aims to fill 7,150 vacancies.
Selected candidates will undergo a one-year training programme and will receive a monthly stipend of Rs 15,000 during this period. The apprenticeship is designed to equip applicants with the skills and knowledge required for a successful career in banking.
SBI APPRENTICE RECRUITMENT 2026: ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Applicants holding a bachelor’s degree from a recognised university/college are eligible to apply for the Apprentice post.
The minimum age limit is 20 years and the maximum is 28 years, as on August 30, 2026. Candidates must also have cleared the aptitude test conducted by the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS).
SBI APPRENTICE RECRUITMENT 2026: STEPS TO APPLY
Step 1: Visit SBI’s careers portal at sbi.co.in.
Step 2: Go to the recruitment section.
Step 3: Find and click on the link titled ‘SBI Apprentice Recruitment 2026’.
Step 4: First complete the registration using accurate login details.
Step 5: Fill in the application form and pay the required fee.
Step 6: Verify all details and submit the form. Save and download the acknowledgement for future reference.
SBI APPRENTICE RECRUITMENT 2026: APPLICATION FEES
The application fee for candidates belonging to the General, OBC, and EWS categories is Rs 300. Candidates from SC, ST, and PwBD categories are exempted from paying the fee.
SBI APPRENTICE RECRUITMENT 2026: SELECTION PROCESS
The selection process for SBI Apprentices comprises an online written examination followed by a local language test. The written exam will be held in October and November and will consist of 100 questions for a total of 100 marks, with a duration of 60 minutes or one hour.
The online written test will include four sections: General/Financial Awareness, General English, Quantitative Aptitude, and Reasoning Ability & Computer Aptitude. The recruitment process will also evaluate the candidate’s proficiency in the local language.
