The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has reiterated that its portal for accessing scanned copies of Class 12 answer sheets and applying for re-evaluation is “fully functional,” even as several students continue to report technical issues on social media.

Responding to concerns raised over login failures, payment glitches and portal inaccessibility, CBSE on May 20 said that the online system was operating smoothly and that a significant number of students had already completed the application process successfully.

In a fresh post on microblogging site X, the Board stated, “The portal for applying for scanned copies of Class XII answer books is now fully functional. We thank students, parents, and schools for their patience and cooperation.”

CBSE further acknowledged that heavy traffic on the portal could occasionally lead to delays, particularly in payment status updates. “Students are advised that due to high volume of requests, temporary delays may occasionally be experienced, particularly in payment status updates. In such cases, repeated submissions should be avoided,” the Board said.

Students Claim Re-evaluation Link Still Not Working

Despite the clarification, several students continue to voice concerns on X, alleging persistent issues such as CAPTCHA errors, login failures, server crashes and payment-related problems while attempting to apply for re-evaluation.

While one X user called it, a “nice joke”, another said “It’s been 36+ hours , no update , 2 time the payment failed , amount was deducted 3 times but it still says payment pending.”

According to CBSE, more than 1.27 lakh students had successfully submitted requests for over 3.87 lakh scanned answer sheets within three hours of the portal opening on May 20.

“1,27,146 applications for obtaining 3,87,399 scanned answer books were submitted successfully by 7:30 pm on 20.05.26, within three hours of the portal opening,” the Board said in its official statement.

Earlier, CBSE had also issued a fact-check rejecting claims that the scanning and evaluation process had been affected by inadequate preparation or time constraints. Calling such allegations “factually incorrect,” the Board maintained that the OSM system was implemented with fairness, transparency and strict supervision at every stage of the evaluation process.
