Ulta Beauty names new CTO


Ulta Beauty on Wednesday announced the appointment of Kelly Garcia to the role of chief technology officer, effective August 31.

With more than 25 years of leadership experience across global e-commerce, customer loyalty, digital innovation, and cybersecurity, Garcia joins Ulta Beauty from Domino’s Pizza, where he has served as executive vice president and CTO since 2012. Prior to Domino’s, Garcia was vice president of business intelligence and North American operations for R. L. Polk & Company.  

A member of the board of the directors at the American beauty chain since 2022, Garcia will resign from the board effective as of his start date as CTO.

In its most recent trading update, Ulta Beauty said comparable sales rose 5.3% during the quarter ended ‌May ⁠2, versus a 2.9% increase a year ago, as the beauty retailer saw demand for higher-priced products and pulled ​in young customers through its recent TikTok push.
