In India, cows, buffaloes, goats, and other domestic animals are typically bought and sold in designated city markets. However, times have changed, and these animals are now being sold online. Learn the story of two young women — Neetu Yadav and Kirti Jangra — who started this unique business nationwide. Now, their startup, which began in a one-room office in Bengaluru, has grown to an annual revenue of over Rs 550 crore. (Image: animall.in)

Neetu Yadav and Kirti Jangra completed their civil engineering studies at IIT Delhi in 2016. After their studies, they both worked at different major companies. One worked in technology and product management, while the other gained experience in the consulting and publishing sectors. Despite having good jobs, they both wanted to do something new and meaningful for the society. (File Photo)

The two noticed that while almost everything can be bought and sold online today, the buying and selling of cattle and buffaloes is still done through traditional methods. Farmers often rely on middlemen, preventing them from getting fair prices and reliable buyers. The idea to address this problem became the foundation of their startup. Before starting this business in August 2019, Neetu and Kirti wanted to know the opinion of the farmers and discussed it extensively through surveys. During this time, the farmers liked their idea very much. Within just 3 months, in November 2019, Neetu and Kirti launched their startup on a large scale with a capital of Rs 50 lakh. Now 80 lakh farmers are connected to this online platform. Animall received funding of Rs 150 crore in its initial stage. (Image: News18 Hindi)

Today, according to the company, more than 180,000 cattle are listed for sale, and over one million buyers and sellers have connected through the app. The startup has also attracted strong investor support and reached a valuation of around Rs 565 crore.
