Turkiye’s Consumer Price Index rose 31.75 per cent year on year and 1.78 per cent month on month in July 2026, driven mainly by food, housing and transportation costs.
Clothing and footwear prices increased 16.48 per cent annually, well below the headline inflation rate, indicating relatively moderate inflation in the apparel segment despite continued price pressures across the broader economy.

Among the three largest expenditure groups, food recorded an annual increase of 37.53 per cent, followed by housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels at 40.32 per cent, and transportation at 30.83 per cent. These categories contributed 8.94 percentage points, 5.21 percentage points and 5.22 percentage points, respectively, to the annual CPI increase.

On a monthly basis, food prices rose 1.61 per cent, transportation increased 2.59 per cent, and housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels advanced 2.25 per cent. Their contributions to the monthly CPI rise were 0.40 percentage point, 0.44 percentage point and 0.27 percentage point, respectively.

The data showed that while overall consumer inflation remained above 30 per cent in July, clothing and footwear prices continued to increase at a slower pace than broader consumer prices, reflecting relatively lower inflationary pressure in the apparel segment.
