In an update shared on August 10, the NTA said that the UGC NET provisional answer keys for June 2026 would be published on the official website this week.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced it will be releasing the UGC NET June 2026 provisional answer keys this week. The CSIR-NET, ICAR AIEEA (PG), and AICE (PhD) will also be released around the time, the agency added.
Candidates have been particularly anxious over the delay in the UGC NET answer key. With almost 40 days since exam, the delay triggered frustration among candidates and UGC NET aspirants warned of a protest outside the NTA building on August 11.
The latest announcement from the NTA is expected to provide some relief to those awaiting an opportunity to check their responses and estimate their performance.
Once the provisional answer keys are released, candidates will be able to compare them with their respective response sheets. It will be available on ugcnet.nta.nic.in. If a candidate believes that any answer published by the NTA is incorrect, they will also be able to challenge it during the notified objection window.
Candidates can challenge provisional answer key
For UGC NET, the provisional answer key will be made available along with the candidates’ response sheets. Candidates who are not satisfied with any answer can submit an objection by paying the prescribed fee for each question challenged.
The objections submitted by candidates will be examined by subject experts. If an objection is found to be valid, the concerned answer may be revised. The final answer key and result will then be prepared after considering the valid challenges.
Candidates should note that the exact objection process, fee, deadline and other instructions will be mentioned in the official notification issued by the NTA.
How to check the UGC NET 2026 answer key
Once the provisional answer key link is activated, candidates can follow these steps to check their response sheet and answer key:
– Visit the official NTA website or the official portal for UGC NET.
– Click on the “Provisional Answer Key Challenge” link on the homepage.
– Enter your application number and password or date of birth.
– Submit the login details.
– The provisional answer key and response sheet will appear on the screen.
– Download the documents and compare your recorded responses with the answers provided by the NTA.
Candidates should keep their login credentials ready and check the official notification carefully once the answer key is released.
