The figures followed a 0.3 per cent rise in industrial production in both regions in May. Compared with June 2025, production increased by 0.1 per cent in the euro area and 0.6 per cent in the EU.
In the euro area, energy production rose 1.5 per cent month on month (MoM), while non-durable consumer goods increased 3 per cent. Capital goods fell 1.4 per cent and intermediate goods declined 0.8 per cent, Eurostat said in press release.
Euro area industrial production was flat in June 2026 from May, while EU output rose 0.2 per cent after both regions gained 0.3 per cent in May.
Non-durable consumer goods rose 3.0 per cent in the euro area and 2.5 per cent in the EU, a signal for textile and apparel sourcing.
Capital and intermediate goods fell in both regions; Denmark and Croatia led gains; Luxembourg saw the sharpest fall.
Across the EU, non-durable consumer goods rose 2.5 per cent and energy output increased 1 per cent. Capital goods fell 0.9 per cent and intermediate goods declined 0.7 per cent.
Denmark recorded the strongest monthly increase at 5.4 per cent, followed by Croatia at 5.2 per cent. Luxembourg saw the sharpest fall, dropping 10.7 per cent.
On an annual basis, Lithuania posted the strongest increase at 7.7 per cent, followed by Denmark at 6.1 per cent and Poland at 4.9 per cent. Luxembourg recorded the largest decline at 7.9 per cent.
