Digital travel platform Agoda has released its 2026 Repeat Visitor Ranking, highlighting destinations in India and across Asia that continue to attract travellers for repeat visits based on bookings made during the first half of the year.New Delhi leads India’s ranking, followed by Chennai, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Kochi. The results highlight the continued appeal of major Indian cities for travellers returning for their food, culture, heritage and business or leisure experiences.New Delhi combines attractions such as the Red Fort and Humayun’s Tomb with bustling markets and a diverse food scene. Chennai follows in second place, offering Dravidian heritage, Marina Beach and its distinctive South Indian cuisine. Mumbai ranks third, with its Art Deco architecture, Bollywood legacy and food culture. Bengaluru, in fourth, combines its technology-driven identity with restaurants, craft beer, live music and green spaces. Kochi completes the top five, offering Fort Kochi’s colonial heritage, Kerala cuisine, contemporary art and access to the state’s backwaters.Across Asia, Tokyo has claimed the top position for the first time, overtaking Bangkok. Bali ranks third, also marking its first appearance in that position, followed by Seoul and Osaka. Da Nang, Kuala Lumpur, Fukuoka, Taipei and Johor Bahru complete the regional top 10.Tokyo’s rise reflects its appeal to repeat visitors through seasonal experiences, neighbourhoods and its culinary offering. Bangkok remains in second place, supported by its wellness experiences, dining and cultural attractions, while Bali continues to attract returning travellers with its beaches, spiritual retreats and landscapes.The ranking also points to growing interest in Japan and Vietnam beyond established tourism hubs.
