The Ludhiana market continued to witness stability in cotton yarn prices amid average demand. Buyers are purchasing cotton yarn in limited quantities as consumption and downstream demand are expected to remain slow during the winter season. However, the festival season may offset some of the weakness in buying interest. A trader from Ludhiana market told Fibre*Fashion, “Despite the steep rise, polyester yarn will continue to attract buyers because of its cost advantage. However, spinning mills are looking to increase yarn prices to match the recent rise in cotton prices. Rising cotton prices have increased production costs for spinning mills.”
