About Salted Chaas
Chaas, also called mor or sambaram in South India, is a simple everyday drink. It is just curd mixed with cold water, salt and a few spices. I usually add roasted cumin powder, green chilli and a plenty of fresh coriander for extra flavour.
I have always loved curd and we have it almost everyday at home. We enjoy it in so many ways like curd rice, raita, mor, mango lassi or simply plain in a bowl.
During summer, I love turning curd into a cold glass of chaas. I have also shared similar refreshing recipes on my blog like neer mor (spiced buttermilk), which is another favorite summer drink at home.
For making chaas, just blend or whisk everything together and your drink is ready in minutes. I love serving it with lunch or sipping on a chilled glass in the afternoon. It is one of those simple homemade drinks that feels so refreshing when the weather is hot.
