British children’s clothing brand Angel & Rocket plans to open 100 stores across India over the next five years, targeting £43 million ($56.76 million) in revenue and creating 500 jobs as part of its expansion into the Indian market.

Led by UK Business Secretary Jonathan Reynolds, the trade mission includes government ministers, regional leaders and more than 100 businesses visiting New Delhi and Mumbai to promote British exports, attract investment and build commercial partnerships, according to a UK government press release.

The latest agreements bring the value of deals announced since the UK-India FTA was signed in July 2025 to nearly £12 billion, according to the UK government.

Bilateral trade between the two countries reached £48 billion in the 12 months to March 2026, an increase of £3 billion year on year at current prices. The FTA is expected to increase annual bilateral trade by £25.5 billion in the long term.

During the visit, Reynolds is scheduled to meet Indian Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal to co-chair the UK-India Joint Economic and Trade Committee. He is also due to meet Science and Technology Minister Jitendra Singh for discussions under the UK-India Science and Innovation Council.

In Mumbai, the delegation will explore further investment opportunities, including closer regional economic cooperation with Maharashtra.

The UK government said the mission aims to translate the trade agreement into commercial opportunities for businesses, helping them reach new customers and expand exports and investment in India.
