The Indian School of Business (ISB) has announced the launch of the PGP Class of 2015 Startup Fellowship, which will provide early-stage financial assistance to promising student entrepreneurs through ISPROUTE, the School’s pre-incubation programme.

The fellowship will be funded through the PGP Class of 2015 (Hyderabad cohort) Startup Endowment Fund. ISB will supplement the fund to ensure continued annual support. The initiative will provide a yearly grant to an eligible student or student-led team from the ongoing Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP) to develop and pursue an entrepreneurial venture.

The memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the fellowship was exchanged between ISB Dean Professor Madan Pillutla and representatives of the PGP Class of 2015 Hyderabad cohort. The exchange took place in the presence of DNV Kumara Guru, Senior Director – Advancement, Alumni Engagement and External Relations, ISB, and Saumya Kumar, Director, ISB I-Venture.

Speaking about the initiative, Dean Madan Pillutla said the fellowship reflects the strength of ISB’s alumni network and its commitment to nurturing future entrepreneurs. “The PGP Class of 2015 Startup Fellowship reiterates the strength of our alumni community and its commitment to supporting the next generation of entrepreneurs. By providing early-stage support through ISPROUTE, the fellowship will enable student founders pursue promising ideas and advance their ventures,” he said.

Anchana C, representing the PGP Class of 2015, said the endowment was a way for the cohort to pass on the confidence and opportunities it gained at ISB. “ISB gave our class the confidence to chart our own paths. Dedicating our class endowment to this fellowship is our way of passing that on. Every year, it will support one student entrepreneur in taking the first steps towards building a venture, with ISB’s entrepreneurial ecosystem behind them,” she added.

The fellowship is part of ISB’s efforts to encourage entrepreneurship and help student founders develop their ideas into ventures.
