Chelsea Green faces growing competition for her WWE Women’s Championship© NDTV Library
Blake Monroe has made her interest in Chelsea Green’s WWE Women’s Championship pretty clear. The 28-year-old star touched the title during a backstage segment on the October 16 episode of SmackDown, and then she shared a picture of that moment on social media without adding any caption. Monroe was speaking with Nick Aldis about her ongoing issues with Giulia when Green entered the scene. Before leaving, Monroe pointed at the championship and told Green that her reign had lasted longer than she expected. It was a brief exchange, but Monroe hardly tried to hide where her attention is going.
Blake Monroe Makes Her Championship Interest Clear on SmackDown
Monroe’s backstage conversation with SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis was originally about her feud with Giulia. Aldis told the former AEW star that their rivalry was getting out of hand, especially after their recent match ended in controversial fashion.
Monroe made her in-ring debut against Giulia after the match got postponed for months. She picked up the win by pinning the Beautiful Madness unexpectedly, but the rivalry didn’t end there, and Monroe kept taking shots at Giulia in the following weeks.
Aldis has booked the two women for a Street Fight next week. But Monroe also had a short exchange with Green in the backstage segment, and her gesture towards the championship didn’t go unnoticed.
Later she posted the image of herself touching Green’s title with no words alongside it.

Chelsea Green Faces Nikki Bella While Blake Monroe Targets Her Title
Green has one more challenger to deal with before any possible title clash with Monroe. In the same SmackDown segment, the champion was discussing Tiffany Stratton’s recent Money in the Bank victory when Nikki Bella interrupted her.
Bella again took verbal shots at Green and said she is next in line for the WWE Women’s Championship. Their backstage talks became more personal over the past month. Green first tried to align herself with the veteran, but Bella rejected the offer because she wanted the championship for herself.
Aldis sanctioned a match between these two women for two weeks later at the Charleston Coliseum in West Virginia. But Bella lost her rematch against Paige on the October 16 show, and this makes her claim to the next title opportunity more complicated.
Monroe has her own problem to settle first, because the Street Fight against Giulia is scheduled for next week. Green’s championship picture now has many names in it, but no match between Monroe and the champion is announced. Stay tuned for more updates.
