North India’s cotton yarn steady as traders await demand revival

North Indian cotton yarn prices remained steady at the beginning of the week amid sluggish demand from downstream weaving and knitting industries and persistent payment constraints. Trading activity remained subdued in Ludhiana and Delhi, while Panipat’s recycled yarn market continued to face weak domestic and export demand despite the festive season. Traders expect buying interest and cash flow to improve after Diwali as downstream manufacturers replenish stocks. Meanwhile, cotton prices in north India declined.

A trader from the Ludhiana market told Fibre*Fashion, “Market conditions did not see any significant change, and prices were hovering around the previous level. Payment conditions also remained unchanged. But cash flow may improve after Diwali as downstream manufacturers will rush to replenish their stocks after the festival.”
