A football match in Tanzania was temporarily brought to a halt as bees swarmed the field of play during the match between City FC Abuja and JKU FC on Friday.

The pre-season game between the sides at the Kwaraa Stadium in Babati had to be brought to a grinding halt as the bees made an appearance towards the final phase of the fixture.
The players, substitutes, assistant referees and broadcast officials undertook evasive action by dropping to their bellies.
While the exact reasons for the bees’ foray onto the field is unknown, some cite erratic weather in the lead up to the game, while others suggest that the vibration and noise from the game could have triggered a movement of the insects.
