Audi has pulled the covers off the RS3 Competition Limited, which is limited to 750 units worldwide and serves as a 50-year celebration for the German carmaker’s famed 5-cylinder petrol engine. This unique, odd-numbered mill was first used in the 1976 Audi 100, and then found its way into the world of rallying. In its present-day state, the engine outputs 400hp and 500Nm, and powers only the RS3. Sadly, Audi’s 5-cylinder engine is unlikely to comply with or be upgraded for the incoming Euro 7 emission norms in 2027, so the RS3 may well be its swansong.
