Passing the CAT exam is crucial for gaining admission to India’s leading management colleges (IIMs). To avoid any issues on the day of the CAT exam, it’s important to follow the dress code and other guidelines. These rules ensure the exam is conducted fairly and transparently, eliminating any chances of malpractice.
Failure to comply with the 2025 dress code may result in candidates being barred from entering the exam center, wasting valuable time and increasing stress. Therefore, students must plan their attire and keeps the required documents ready at least a day before the CAT exam. It’s advisable to wear comfortable clothing for the 2025 CAT exam and avoid bringing any electronic devices, as these items will take time to be checked.
It is mandatory to bring a printed copy of the CAT Admit Card and an original photo identity card (such as Aadhar Card, PAN Card, Passport). Candidates must note that biometric data (fingerprint/photograph) is collected before entry into the examination centre. Without this, entry will be denied. Paper for rough work will be provided in the examination hall and must be submitted there after the exam is over.
CAT 2025 Exam Dress Code
There is no specific dress code for the CAT exam. Like any other competitive exam, students must wear simple clothes that ensure comfort:
– Candidates should wear light and simple clothing.
– Avoid wearing clothes with big buttons, zips, pockets, or multiple layers.
– Candidates are not allowed to wear completely closed shoes or heavy footwear.
– Opt for open sandals or slippers.
CAT Exam Guidelines:
– To prevent cheating and other issues, certain items are prohibited during the CAT exam. Everyone is advised to leave these prohibited items at home.
– Electronic devices: Mobile phones, smartwatches, fitness bands, Bluetooth devices, earphones, calculators (an on-screen calculator is provided for the exam).
– Jewellery: Metal items such as rings, bracelets, earrings, nose pins, chains, or amulets are not permitted.
– Stationery: Pen, pencil, paper (provided at the exam centre for rough work), geometry box, or writing pad.
– Purses and Bags: Wallets, purses, or handbags are not permitted.
– Other items: Hat, muffler, jacket, or sunglasses. Diabetic candidates may bring fruit or a water bottle with prior notice.
