BJP MP Anil Baluni posted a terrifying video from Uttarakhand’s devastation-affected area yesterday, depicting a huge landslide underway when he was in the area. The Rajya Sabha MP’s social media platform X post showcases the magnitude of the natural disaster ongoing in the state now.

‘Deep Wounds’ From Landslides And Cloudbursts

In his blog post, Baluni characterized the current crisis as having caused “deep wounds” on Uttarakhand that would not heal for a long time. “The visuals itself depict the enormity of the natural disaster our Uttarakhand is undergoing right now,” he said. The MP also prayed for the safety and well-being of the people and thanked relief workers for their arduous efforts.
Fresh Cloudburst Causes Destruction In Chamoli
The clip comes during a series of fatal natural calamities in the area. A new cloudburst hit Nandanagar Ghat locality in Uttarakhand’s Chamoli district during the night on Wednesday, engulfing at least six houses under the rubble. Seven individuals were present in the houses, out of whom two were rescued while five are yet to be traced. The rescue operations are in process.
Widespread Destruction In Himachal And Uttarakhand
The cloudbursts and showers have resulted in large-scale destruction in both Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh. The tragedies in the last few months have killed 15 individuals and left 16 missing in Uttarakhand. In Himachal Pradesh, over 1,500 families have lost their homes. As per news agency PTI, there have been 46 cloudbursts, 98 flash floods, and 145 big landslides in the state since June 20 when the monsoon started.
