According to the notice, the Regional Offices, CoEs, and Sub-Regional Offices are located in Gurugram, Lucknow, Raipur, Ranchi, Agartala, Itanagar, and Gangtok.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has established regional, sub-regional offices, and Centres of Excellence in seven cities. As per the notice, these offices are situated in Gurugram, Lucknow, Raipur, Ranchi, Agartala, Itanagar, and Gangtok. CBSE has stated that all schools affiliated with the board will be managed by their respective offices according to the specified jurisdictions.
In an official notification signed by Secretary Himanshu Gupta, it was announced that following the Finance Committee’s approval on 12 December 2024 (Agenda Item No. II), ratification by the Governing Body on 26 December 2024, and approval by the Board’s Controlling Authority, Secretary (SE&L), Ministry of Education, six new Regional Offices, Centres of Excellence (CoEs), and Sub-Regional Offices have been established.
The notice also included detailed addresses and the dates they will become operational.
Regional Offices & CoEs
Gurugram Office (CoE)
Situated at Gurugram Technology Park, this office will supervise 12 southern districts of Haryana, including Bhiwani, Faridabad, Gurugram, Jhajjar, Mahendragarh, Nuh, Palwal, Panipat, Rewari, Rohtak, and Sonipat. It will start operations on September 1, 2025.
Lucknow Office
Located in Gomti Nagar Extension, the Lucknow office will manage 30 districts of Uttar Pradesh, including Amethi, Ayodhya, Bareilly, Etawah, Jhansi, Kanpur, Lucknow, Mathura, Shahjahanpur, Sitapur, and Unnao, starting from September 1, 2025.
Raipur Office (CoE)
Based at CSIDC Corporate Tower, Raipur, this office will be responsible for schools in Chhattisgarh, effective from today, August 22, 2025.
Ranchi Office (CoE)
Located at Bansal Bhawan, Ranchi, it will oversee schools across Jharkhand, starting from August 22, 2025.
Sub-Regional Offices
Agartala
The new office in West Tripura will cater to schools in Tripura, starting from September 15, 2025.
Itanagar
Set up at the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) in Gohpur Tinali, Itanagar, this office will serve Arunachal Pradesh, effective from August 22, 2025.
Gangtok
Based in Tadong, Gangtok, this office will oversee schools in Sikkim, beginning August 22, 2025.
Additionally, in a separate notice, CBSE announced its collaboration with the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) to conduct an awareness programme against drug abuse in CBSE-affiliated schools. An MoU with the NCB, Ministry of Home Affairs, will be signed in September, at the CBSE Headquarters in Dwarka, New Delhi.
